Bonna Brand Story

In 1983, Kar Porselen was founded in a tiny ceramic atelier with greater dreams to try new things, create innovative products with successful techniques and bring a different perspective to the conventional understanding of ceramic household products.

Chef-figured spoon holders and basketweave presentation bowls were the finest examples of this new approach and got their very own spots at every Turkish household in the ’80s. While the conventional round dining plates were leaving the spotlight for Turkey’s first square-shaped plates manufactured by Kar Porselen, the tiny atelier kept growing day by day.

This legacy full of innovation and craftsmanship shaped Bonna Premium Porcelain, and the brand “Bonna” was born in 2014 to become one of the most successful HoReCa brands of Turkey in just a few years. With the motivation of making a difference by creating accurate solutions for market needs, Bonna released the lifetime edge-chip warranty plates in Turkey for the first time. Becoming one of the limited brands worldwide providing this warranty, Bonna now was also ready to exceed the boundaries and become a global brand.

A Globally Known and Preferred Brand

Building the domestic dealers network as of 2014, Bonna accomplished its first export to Russia and accelerated the international dealership agreements. First domestic partners meeting took place at the end of the year, followed by the launch of first hand-painted collection “AURA”. This innovative and unusual product range never tried in Turkey became the pioneer of a new trend for colorful dining plates.

At the end of 2015, Bonna attended Milano HOST, one of the most prestigious foreign commerce fairs, and took an important step on becoming a globally known brand. Participating Frankfurt Ambiente for the first time in 2016, the brand emphasized its vision and sectorial claim one more time, and empowered international collaborations.

This rapid growth followed by a significant demand increase led the additional block investment and digital decoring technology setup in Cayirova facility by 2017. Manufacturing more products for different requirements and providing personalization opportunities played an essential role for Bonna to become the first choice of HoReCa professionals worldwide.
